Emily Piassick, Ph.D.
Director, Licensed Psychologist & SHAPE Advisor
Dr. Piassick received her doctoral degree in counseling psychology and her master's degree in higher education counseling from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Piassick completed her internship at the University of Texas Counseling and Mental Health Center. Prior to coming to Mercer, she was employed as a counselor at the YWCA of Greater Austin: Women's Counseling and Referral Center.
Whitney Wyatt, M.Ed., LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Ms.Wyatt completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Ms. Wyatt completed her internships at Chattanooga State Community College and CADAS, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation hospital. Prior to coming to Mercer, Ms. Wyatt worked as a child and adolescent counselor for Georgia Hope in rural North Georgia and later at Health Connect America serving at-risk youth and families in Nashville, TN.
Mrs. Duncan currently serves as the administrative secretary for the CAPS department.
Marriage & Family Intern
Ms. Brooks is currently enrolled in the Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Mercer University.
SHAPE Graduate Assistant
Ms. Taylor is currently a student in the Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy program at Mercer University. She serves as a the SHAPE graduate assistant for the CAPS office.
John Franco & Amy Varghese
AWARE Co-Lead Peer Educators
Mr.Franco and Ms. Varghese lead our AWARE Peer Educators. They are both juniors at Mercer and have been affiliated with AWARE since the 2015-16 school year. Mr. Franco is a Chemistry major and Ms. Varghese is a Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (Pre-Med) major, with a Business Administration minor. They both expect to graduate in spring of 2019.
Brent Meyer, Ph.D., LCSW
Asst. Director, Licensed Clinical Social Worker & AWARE Advisor
Dr. Meyer received his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Mercer University, his master's degree in social work from the University of Chicago, and his bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Georgia. Dr. Meyer completed internships in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. Prior to coming to Mercer, he began his career as an inpatient psychiatric social worker at St. Catherine Hospital's in the Chicago area. Following that he served as the head of social work for the Tallahassee Memorial Rehabilitation Center and was involved in an outpatient private practice.
